"The food here was absolutely delicious. We had the pesto pasta, veal meatballs wrapped in lemon leaves and baked potatoes and honestly it all hit the spot. Everything was so flavourful and cooked perfectly. The service was wonderful too, our waiter welcomed us with a little champagne and olive bruschetta which was really nice and made our lunch even more special. Great food, lovely service and a really nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend if you are in Taormina!"

"One of the most enjoyable meals we had in Sicily was at Trattoria Don Ciccio, a classic Sicilian trattoria just steps from the Duomo di Taormina. We stopped in for lunch. They open just before noon and were greeted with a warm smile and a calm, welcoming atmosphere that felt worlds away from the busy Corso Umberto. The food was exceptional. The Spaghetti allo Scoglio (seafood spaghetti) was perfectly cooked and full of fresh, briny flavor. The Caponata was rich and balanced, and the Parmigiana di Melanzane (eggplant parmigiana) melted in the mouth. We also shared an Insalata Caprese with creamy mozzarella di bufala and sun-ripened tomatoes. It was simple, fresh, and delicious. Service was fantastic! It was friendly, efficient, and genuinely proud of their kitchen. The wine list features excellent Sicilian labels, including local Nero d’Avola and Etna reds. With several Certificates of Excellence proudly displayed on the wall, it’s clear this is a beloved spot for both locals and travelers."

"We came to the Trattoria by chance, but it turned out to be a perfect choice. The best food we had in Taormina! The service was incredibly friendly. We were welcomed with wine and bruschetta, and when we left we were given rice cookies with honey – they were delicious! For a starter we ordered a board with cheeses, cured meats, and other specialties – everything was excellent. For the main courses we had the fish of the day, which was fresh and juicy; spaghetti Bolognese, which the lover of this dish absolutely loved; meatballs with potatoes and vegetables – very tasty; and the best vegetarian pasta I’ve ever had – with pistachio pesto and almonds. If we weren’t leaving today, we would definitely come back tomorrow."

"We had an amazing experience at Trattoria Don Ciccio! The food was absolutely excellent – full of flavor and beautifully prepared. It’s tucked away on a quiet side street, which gave it a peaceful, intimate atmosphere, and the view was simply breathtaking. We were especially grateful to find it open during the afternoon hours when most restaurants are typically closed – a lifesaver! The service was outstanding – warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The relaxing ambiance, complemented by lovely background music, made it a perfect dining spot. If you’re dining with family or a group, definitely try the antipasti platter. Our family of three shared it, and it was more than enough. The aubergine and cheeses were especially good! Highly recommend for anyone visiting Taormina!"

"We came across Don Ciccio by chance and were so glad we found it. It was an oasis away from the mass of people dining and walking on Corso Umberto. It is located on a quiet side street where there is shaded outside seating and a slight view down to the sea. Our waiter was exceptional. We loved the food. I had the ravioli Don Ciccio and caprese salad and both were delicious. The chef appears to take great pride in his work and personally came out to check on our (and other patrons') meals. I would recommend Don Ciccio's to anyone who needs a break from the crowds and wants a delicious, well prepared meal."

"David was attentive to our needs for dinner. Upon entering you are greeted at your table with complimentary prosecco and bruchetta. I had the lamb with cabbage and veggies. Ample portions. Wife had swordfish plate with eggplant in the middle. Also ample portions. Food and service good. Good wine offerings and overall a very good experience highly recommend."

"100/10 recommend if you are visiting — away from the busy streets of Taormina, but still has the charm. The waiter was so sweet and attentive. The chef (who is also the owner) is spectacular, the food was absolutely delicious! Grazie"
